The Visual Arts are therefore, essential to education both as independent disciplines and as an integral part of all learning in all areas of the curriculum. The Arts enable students to develop higher order thinking skills, creative problem-solving, self-discipline,and the ability to collaborate with others. Arts education heightens students’ awareness of the aesthetic experiences therefore enriching all aspects of life.
We’re so proud to celebrate Saugatuck’s 11th annual One Book, Two Schools initiative! Thanks to our amazing SES PTA, every family received a copy of Wildlife Rescue: How to Save an Owl by Kate Messner. Over the past two weeks, students and families have been reading together at home while also enjoying special moments at school.
Our PTA hosted a wonderful “Rise and Read” event in the Library Media Center, bringing together students and families for a joyful start to the day. Participants gathered to share books, build connections, and enjoy light morning snacks in a warm and welcoming space. It was a great example of our school community coming together to celebrate the love of reading.
