Saugatuck PTA's Annual Book Fair is one of our favorite traditions—made even more special by our third- and fourth-grade buddies who shop side-by-side with their kindergarten and first-grade friends.
Saugatuck's No Place for Hate Student Leaders recently met for their first meeting. The No Place for Hate initiative fosters a school community where every student feels safe, respected, and included. Our student leaders will plan and lead projects and discussions that empower our community to stand up against bullying and promote kindness and understanding.
Saugatuck Elementary School was delighted to host award-winning author Jasmine Warga for our 4th and 5th graders. In the weeks leading up to her visit, 5th graders in the library’s Makerspace designed imaginative Mars Rovers inspired by her novel, "A Rover’s Story," while 4th graders collaborated with Ms. Lasto in art to create beautiful paintings based on her mystery, "A Strange Thing Happened in Cherry Hall."
Our talented SES chorus kicked off the event with a beautiful performance that filled the arena with school pride. Families and staff cheered on our local team throughout an exciting game that went into overtime.
Our SES Family Trees are back! At SES, all staff and students are part of a family group. Our family groups recently met and our newest members added their thumbprints to their family tree, showcasing how we are all an important part of our SES community.
SES fifth graders had some 'Friday fun' while playing a food chain game with a partner to understand the relationship between living things within their "pizza farm." They are working to understand how we can use what we know about energy and matter in living systems ( a pizza farm) to increase sustainability in our community and beyond.
