Sandy is an inspired, innovative, and impassioned leader in education. She earned her Intermediate Administrator Certification from Sacred Heart University, a Certificate of Advanced Study and Master of Arts in School Psychology from Fairfield University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology-Child/Development and Mental Health from Albertus Magnus College.
Sandy began her career as a School Psychologist for Stratford Public Schools in 2005. In 2009, she became the Coordinator of Outplacements for the district and remained there until she was named the Pre-K through 12 Supervisor of Special Education for Newtown Public Schools in 2013. There, she worked to align and improve special education practices, while playing a key role in supporting the vision and mission of the district. Sandy came to Westport in 2016 as Assistant Principal of Saugatuck Elementary School. In this role, she has assumed the responsibility and opportunity to oversee special education practices and to provide sound and effective site-based instructional leadership that enhances and fosters a learning environment which provides rigorous academic challenge and success for all students, as well as to influence and mobilize active staff, student and community participation.
In her spare time, Sandy is an avid snowboarder, enjoys traveling with her husband, spending time with family and friends, and working out.
